OK so why this blog? Well I have found throughout my career (it has been a long one already) that what makes a project fail/succeed are more about the things that do not show up in text books. They fail because of all kinds of reasons, big issues, small issues and are usually a confluence of both systemic and tactical issues. So this is a blog about practical, not theroretical ways to work through projects that are killng the team, seem to have no direction or just seem to never end. The audience should be stakeholders, team leaders and managers - and of course team members who are at the bottom of the hill with the ugly stuff running down at them.
And so we are clear, Finish That Project may be Finish-Off That Project. I have killed nearly as many bad projects as I haved helped get back on track. So there will be plenty of blog space dedicated to the "is this a viable project" topic.
So shall we get started?
